Cabled Cowl

Cowls seem to this winter’s hot accessory, so I decided to experiment.

Basic cowls are incredibly simple to make, just knit a tube in any pattern with any yarn. I made this one with a robin’s egg blue, 55% bamboo/45% wool yarn. I added a  repeating cable.

The stockinette stitch caused the edges to roll, next time I will probably put a different edge on the cowl. A great trick is to use a smaller size needle for a few rows on the end. This way the stockinette stitch rolls nicely, making a finished edge, but doesn’t roll too much.
